Dear Ebenezer family, I greet you in the marvelous and matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I pray that each of you are well. Welcome to the 11th month of the year. November is known as the month of Thanksgiving. Certainly, every day is a day of Thanksgiving. Paul, says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. “ Thank you, Jesus! Announcements: Tonight, you are invited to watch the anniversary service of First Baptist Church, Highland Park, Landover, Maryland, as they celebrate 102 years of ministry. You recently received an email, which included a flyer with a link to the church’s website. Click on the link and you will be able to worship with us. I am the guest preacher for this worship service. Please pray for your pastor to preach the word of God with clarity, conviction and power. I am also one of the co-teachers for the Virginia Baptist State Convention, Midwinter Board session in Herndon, Virginia. Please pray that we have a great session, as we teach “Reimagining Evangelism. “ Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 9:30 AM, we are having our church-wide leadership training. This is an invitation to all of our leaders and prospective leaders. Please come as we make further plans (24-25) for the revitalization, restructuring, and renewing of our commitment as a church to the kingdom of God. This will be a hybrid meeting. Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 9:30 AM, we will have our annual prayer assembly hosted by the intercessory prayer ministry. Our guest preacher will be the new pastor-elect Rev. Jerry Holmes. Come, let’s pray together. We have so much to pray about. November 18, 2023 at 10:00 AM, we will have our quarterly church conference. It will be a hybrid meeting. The Portsmouth downtown Consortium of Churches will have our annual Thanksgiving service, TBA. This ends this email for the week. I look forward to worshiping with you on Sunday as we share the Lords supper together. Finally, be in prayer for Rev. James Wynn, Trustee Exum Lee and Deacon Philmore Artis, as they are recovering in the hospitals, and rehabilitation center. Please remember their families in prayer also. Pray for Lady Chanda and for me. I want to thank all of you who treated me and Lady Chanda very kindly, during the month of October - clergy, appreciation month. I also want to thank the Deaconess, missionaries, Linell, Orton, and all others who surprised me last Sunday with an appreciation reception. I/we are truly grateful and appreciative for all the love and kindness that you have shown, and are showing to us. Words truly cannot sufficiently express our gratitude.
